Are all foods clean

I receive this question regularly, so I decided to post my response online to make it more accessible. The question is usually something like this, “Didn’t Jesus declare all food to be clean?” This question is in reference to Mark 7:19 in the NIV, which says,
For it doesn’t go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods “clean.”) (Mark 7:19 NIV)

Now look at the King James Version.
“because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods” (Mark 7:19 KJV)

Notice that the phrase “In saying this, Jesus declared all foods ‘clean’” is not present in the King James Version. This is because that is a translator’s note that was added by the translators of the NIV (and a few other modern translations). If you look at the Greek text, you will not find that phrase anywhere. It is not present in any of the Greek manuscripts, it is an addition that was made by the translators.

Let no one judge you in food drink holiday or sabbath

Why does Paul say, let no one judge you in food, feast days, or Sabbaths?

Lets start by looking at the text in question, which is Colossians 2:16-17. It’s important to keep in mind that Colossians was written to Greek converts who were living in a pagan culture.
“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Messiah.” (Colossians 2:16-17)

This is an interesting visual aid that Paul uses here to describe these things. He says they are a shadow of the Messiah. A person’s shadow always goes with you. Sometimes it follows you, and sometimes it precedes you, but it is always right there with you. You can’t go anywhere without your shadow, and likewise your shadow can’t go anywhere without you.

Also, Paul says they are a shadow of things to come. This means the shadow precedes the Messiah. They are prophetic shadows that help to reveal the plans of Yahweh. The shadow of Messiah lets us know what Messiah is going to do.

Heaven and Earth destroyed

Many christians teach that the Torah (LAW) has been ended, or partially ended, or is somehow not relevant to us as believers. Is this really true? What do the Scriptures teach us about this? What did Yeshua (Jesus) say about this?
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah – not until everything that must happen has happened.” (Matthew 5:17-18)

So, according to Yeshua himself, the Torah is in full effect, and not even a tiny dot will be removed until both heaven and earth are destroyed. When will heaven and earth be destroyed? We see in Revelation that it will happen after the Messiah returns and judges the earth. THEN there will be a “new heaven and new earth”.
“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.” (Revelation 21:1)

So, until HE returns and fulfills all things, the Torah is still active and relevant for us today. Many christian teachers have been falsely teaching that “Jesus came to end the Law”, or that the “Law was fulfilled in Jesus so we dont have to do it anymore”, but these are false teachings. We need to trust the Word of God, not the words of men. If we claim to follow Yeshua (Jesus), then we need to obey what He told us, and listen closely to His words. Yeshua taught obedience to the whole Torah as long as both heaven and earth remain.

Life After Death

Popular Christianity teaches that when we die, we will either go straight to heaven or straight to hell, but is that really what the Bible says? There is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding about life after death, and in this teaching I plan to address many of questions concerning heaven, hell, eternal life, and the resurrection of the dead.

I want to make sure we understand what the Bible says about these things so that we are not deceived by false doctrines.  We must be Bereans and study the Scriptures to find out which things are true and which are not. As with any topic we study, be ready to UNLEARN the lies we have inherited.

In the beginning…

If we really want a good understanding of the Biblical concept of life, death, and the afterlife, then we need to start in the beginning, because that is where we find out how life began, and why we must die.

I am convinced that our understanding of the events in Genesis will shape our understanding of everything else.

The Prophetic Feasts

The Feasts of YHVH are prophetic appointments that show us things about the Messiah. These are set apart times that the Father wants us to practice, so that we will be ready for the Messiah. This is the Creator's Calendar, and He has told us in advance what He plans to do, if we will follow His calendar, we will be ready for what He plans to do.

And YHVH spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'The Feasts of YHVH, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My Feasts. (Leviticus 23:1-2)

Religious Titles

"they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.' "But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (Matthew 23:6-12)

Stop using Religious titles of authority and exaltation.

Celebrate FirstFruits

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. (1Corinthians 15:20-25)

Kosher

This is a simple animation that I created that outlines the commandments concerning kosher (clean and unclean) eating. Our Heavenly Father loves us, and He wants what is best for us. This is why He told us what is good to eat and what is not. He is looking out for us, and trying to keep us safe and healthy.

Another Antichrist

Antiochus and Constantine were two men with the same agenda. One lived about 200 years before Jesus birth and the other lived about 300 years after Jesus death. Both of these men were Pagan Emperors, one was Greek the other was Roman. They both hated the Jewish people, and wanted to unify their Empire by assimilating all religions into a single faith. Antiochus tried to force all Jews to join the Greek religion, but the Jewish people rebelled against him. Constantine was smarter than Antiochus, and he decided to merge the Pagan religion into the Christian faith, the pagans were much more likely to adapt to a new religion than the Christians would be, and he made it easy for the Pagans to identify with the new religion by keeping their festivals and holy days the same, he even kept the temples and priesthood - just giving them new names.
