There is a new source of confusion among believers about when we should keep the Sabbath. Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and Messianic believers all agree that Sunday is NOT the Biblical Sabbath. There is no dispute about this among preachers, scholars, historians, or theologians. It is a well documented fact that Sunday church was instituted by the Roman Empire and the Catholic Church 300 years after Yeshua ascended. We know for a fact that Sunday is not, and never has been the Sabbath.
However, there is a new theory about the Sabbath that is gaining popularity among Sabbath keeping believers that is causing them to question if we are truly keeping the Biblical Sabbath as commanded by God. What is the Lunar Sabbath?
The Lunar Sabbath theory suggests that the weekly cycle resets each month based on the new moon, and ignores the current weekly uninterrupted 7 day cycle. They argue that the Sabbath will always fall on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th day of every lunar month.
